To welcome the 2019 cohort of college graduates to join the company and help our “reserved and shy” colleagues quickly get acquainted and become more comfortable with one another, the company organized a one-day excursion to “Hangzhou Bay Seaflower Field” on July 20.

We gathered under the dormitory building in the morning and boarded the bus, where we kicked off a fun game of “Name-Chain Guessing”! Everyone whose name had already been called became close-knit, loving buddies. After arriving at our destination and making some quick preparations, we eagerly began today’s three exciting activities: horseback riding, barbecue, and a boat cruise.
First, two groups of people headed to the racecourse to take part in the elegant yet thrilling horseback riding activity. Paired up in twos, we were led onto the horses by the venue supervisor, where we got to experience the joy of riding. Although we couldn’t quite match the imposing and majestic presence of the seasoned horsemen at the racecourse, we certainly weren’t going to back down either.

Next, everyone strolled around the garden, and the lively atmosphere remained undiminished. Together, they enjoyed the gentle cool breeze, crossed winding little bridges, and took memorable photos on the swaying suspension bridge and under the pavilion. After playing for a while, as lunchtime approached, they hurried to the barbecue area. After handing over responsibilities to the local coordinator, they brought out the meats, seasonings, fruits, and vegetables that they’d prepared in advance—everyone was eager to show off their cooking skills. “I’ll start skewering the ingredients!” “I’ll wash the fruit!” “Hey, no cheating—you’re not supposed to sneak a bite!” “I’ll clear the table!” With everyone working together in perfect harmony—“Qi (hi), Xi (hi), Xie (ha), Li (ha)” —the preparations were quickly completed, and then they began today’s barbecue. Several people took turns grilling, while others helped by sprinkling seasonings, passing along ingredients, and distributing food to everyone. The whole process felt natural, relaxed, and filled with joy. Everyone agreed that food prepared with their own hands tasted even better, and before they knew it, the entire table was cleared of food.

After a brief break, we strolled over to the final boat tour activity. Once the group had spontaneously divided into several foursomes, everyone boarded their respective boats, instantly transforming the summer lake into a vibrant canvas of colors. Some boats drifted freely across the lake, others circled along the shoreline, and still others stayed close to the shore, basking in the gentle breeze and the shimmering ripples on the water’s surface. In the face of nature’s generous gift, our friends all wore joyful smiles.

After the three activities came to an end and everyone took a group photo at the scenic spot, they set off on their way back. Although slightly tired, they kept chatting from time to time about today’s fun experiences, still reluctant to part ways.
