On the afternoon of August 22, the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, the Management Committee of the Hangzhou Bay Shangyu Industrial Park, and Shangyu Zhongke Baiyun Fine R&D Center Co., Ltd. jointly convened the Board of Directors Meeting for the Zhejiang Province Shangyu Green Fine Chemical Industry Technology Innovation Service Platform. Representatives from the platform’s construction units, as well as experts and professors from research institutes such as the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Provincial Petrochemical & Building Materials Group, along with representatives from universities, sat together to offer their insights, freely exchange ideas, and collectively discuss the platform’s future development strategies. Vice Mayor Yin Boyao attended the meeting.

As the first regional science and technology innovation service platform in our province, the Shangyu Green Fine Chemical Science and Technology Innovation Service Platform in Zhejiang Province was established in May of this year. Its goal is to build a first-class domestic public innovation service platform for fine chemicals that is “rooted in Shangyu, serving the entire province, reaching out nationwide, and aligning with global standards,” thereby driving the sustained and rapid development of the fine chemical industry in the Shangyu Industrial Park along the Hangzhou Bay as well as throughout the entire province. Currently, the platform’s construction and operation have gradually entered a track of healthy development.

Participants enthusiastically shared their views on how to better leverage the platform’s role in providing practical and effective technological innovation services to small and medium-sized enterprises, thereby driving scientific and technological progress and industrial development in the fine chemical industry. Everyone shared a common goal: while striving for greater growth of their own enterprises, they also aim—through the platform’s development—to contribute to the sustainable development of the fine chemical industry at the city and even provincial levels. Regarding the platform’s future direction and key priorities, attendees unanimously agreed that the platform should capitalize on its strengths in integrating industry, academia, and research, responding to the needs of both enterprises and industrial development. It should step up research, development, and promotion of critical, common technologies as well as green chemical technologies, using high-tech approaches to transform and upgrade traditional industries. At the same time, participants suggested that the industrial park should adhere to the principles of prioritizing environmental protection, safety, and advanced technology, strengthening the management and monitoring of enterprises’ “three wastes.” While serving enterprises, the platform should also intensify research into waste utilization, conduct surveys and design upstream and downstream raw material supply chains, establish industrial chains among enterprises within the park, and shift from end-of-pipe pollution control to source-based prevention. This will promote circular economy operations within the park and foster its sustainable development.
