2023 World Investor Week | Promoting the Concept of Green Investing and Encouraging Rational Investment

World Investor Week—often referred to as “WIW”—is a week-long global initiative led by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). Its purpose is to raise awareness about the importance of investor education and protection and to highlight the various initiatives undertaken by securities regulators in these two critical areas. To enable a broader range of investors to benefit from the investor education and protection efforts carried out by their organizations, the Committee on Small and Medium-Sized Investors (C8), under IOSCO, proposed the idea of holding a “World Investor Week” at its 2016 Sydney Conference.
The International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) is an international cooperative organization composed of securities and futures regulatory authorities from around the world. It brings together global securities regulators and is widely recognized as the global standard-setting body for the securities industry. In 1995, China’s Securities Regulatory Commission joined the organization and became its official member.
The “2023 World Investor Week” event revolves around two key themes: “Investors’ Risk-Management Capabilities” and “Sustainable Finance.” It aims to enhance investors’ awareness of risk prevention and promote the principles of rational investing, value investing, and long-term investment.
