PEEK high-performance polymer
Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) is a semi‑crystalline, high‑performance specialty engineering plastic whose main chain consists of repeating units of ether and ketone linkages. It can withstand long‑term service temperatures up to 260°C and exhibits excellent chemical resistance, hydrolytic stability, as well as outstanding mechanical strength and dimensional stability. PEEK is widely used in cutting‑edge industries such as aerospace, medical devices, semiconductor manufacturing, and the petrochemical sector.
Introduction to PEEK Properties
High-temperature resistance
•Tg = 143℃ •Tm = 343℃ The long-term use temperature (CUT) generally reaches up to 260°C, and some modified grades exhibit a heat deflection temperature (HDT) as high as 320°C.
Low-temperature resistance
It retains excellent mechanical properties even under ultra‑low‑temperature conditions of −196°C.
Radiation resistance
Even at a γ-ray irradiation dose of 1100 Mrad, it still maintains excellent insulating properties and retains favorable mechanical performance.
High intensity
After enhanced modification, its specific strength can surpass that of commonly used metallic materials such as steel and aluminum alloys.
Fatigue resistance
It exhibits excellent fatigue resistance under cyclic loading, making it suitable for extreme fatigue‑critical applications such as long‑life gears.
Creep resistance
At a stress level corresponding to 50% of the tensile strength, the creep strain after 1,000 hours remains below 0.5%, demonstrating excellent dimensional stability.
Wear resistance
It exhibits excellent sliding properties, making it suitable for applications that demand a low coefficient of friction and long-term wear resistance.
Chemical resistance
Except for concentrated sulfuric acid, it is insoluble in most organic solvents as well as in strong acids and strong bases, and exhibits excellent hydrolytic stability.
Electrical properties
It exhibits excellent electrical insulation properties over a broad range of temperatures and frequencies, with low dielectric loss at high frequencies.
Thermal Properties and Processability
It can undergo thermoplastic processing such as injection molding and extrusion over a broad temperature range of 340–420°C, with a thermal decomposition temperature as high as 550°C.
Biocompatibility
It exhibits excellent biocompatibility, is free of any adverse effects, and complies with all requirements of the ISO 10993 standard.
Low-smoke flame retardant
It achieves UL 94 V‑0 flame‑retardant rating without the addition of any flame retardants, and emits low smoke during combustion.
Low density
Its density is approximately 1.3 g/cm³; even after modification, it remains significantly lower than that of metallic materials with comparable strength, which is advantageous for lightweight design.

PEEK-modified products
PEEK-GF (glass-fiber-reinforced) series
Glass-fiber-reinforced plastics are suitable for injection molding and extrusion. They offer higher strength and stiffness, excellent creep resistance and dimensional stability, and a lower coefficient of thermal expansion, meeting the requirements of high‑load structural components in static applications.
PEEK-CF (carbon fiber-reinforced) series
Carbon-fiber-reinforced plastics are suitable for injection molding and extrusion. Compared with the PEEK‑GF series, they offer higher strength, greater stiffness, improved dimensional stability, and a lower coefficient of friction. They are used in static or dynamic applications requiring enhanced strength, stiffness, and, in some cases, wear resistance.
PEEK-FC (Wear-Resistant Modified) Series
It is modified with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), graphite, and carbon fibers, making it suitable for injection molding and extrusion. Featuring a low coefficient of friction, excellent wear resistance, and superior chemical resistance, it is an ideal choice for friction‑related applications.
